2 TIMOTHY 3:16-17

“All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, rebuking, correcting and training in righteousness, so that the servant of God may be thoroughly equipped for every good work.”

My Story:

Bob Haisler is a seasoned business professional, mentor, teacher, and incubator of new ideas for reimagining education. After many successful years working for large corporations in management roles, Haisler answered his calling to enter the teaching profession in 1997. Haisler brings in a wealth of experience working with students of all ages. His first assignment included teaching physical education classes for PK3 -through 8th grades and serving as an athletic director at a Christian school in Austin for six years. He then brought his Business Management degree alive by acquiring a Texas Teaching Certification in Secondary Business Administration. Haisler taught business courses at Elgin High School for 15 years and spent his last three years at Thrall High School, after being hired to start their business program. Haisler’s specialty is engaging his students in real-world, project-based learning activities. Several notable examples include the naming of the Malford Mumford Memorial Bridge on Highway 290 in Elgin, Texas, and the illumination of the city water tower in Thrall, Texas - which can be illuminated in different colors for various events during the year. Haisler states that “Teaching business is teaching current events since it changes every day.” His educational philosophies focus on building relationships and encouraging students to follow their dreams while preparing for what’s ahead.

Haisler, an Elgin native, has been married to his wonderful wife, Liz, for 36 years, has three grown children, and is expecting their tenth grandchild in July. He is a faithful member of First Baptist Church in Elgin.
